Notes
6 deceased feral rabbits tested for RHDV2; confirmed 9/9/22 by CFIA lab. https://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/rare-rabbit-disease-wiping-out-feral-bunnies-in-calgary-tests-confirm βThe strain of the disease is RHDV2, which Davies said can be transmitted between feral, domestic bunnies and native rabbit and hare species, putting jackrabbits, cottontails and snowshoe hares in danger of contracting the deadly virus. Indoor pet rabbits are also at risk. βWe sent off samples for testing to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and, on Friday last week, we learned that all six rabbits we sent samples from were positive for RHDV2,β said Davies.β
