Notes

There is a little black and white rabbit that has decided to make a home in my backyard. He/she has been here for a few weeks now and is living under my garden shed. This is not a good situation for the rabbit as I have two dogs, one with high prey drive who is trying to get under the shed every time I let him out in the yard. I don’t believe this is a wild rabbit, it is too tame. It will now come out and come to me when I call it. I resisted giving it any food for the first few weeks, but have now offered it pieces of apple and carrots, which it will follow me for. Either someone lost their rabbit or abandoned it. I can’t just leave it in my yard, firstly because of the dogs but secondly I don’t think it can survive a winter out in the cold. I’ve contacted the BCSPCA in Chilliwack and although they are sympathetic, they have no room for it at this time. As I said this rabbit appears to be very tame and will come to me for food, I don’t think it will be very difficult to train it and rehome it. Can you let me know if you might be able to take it?
